Ruth has always liked to interpret the way she feels through drawing and painting.
Coming to live in New Zealand introduced her to sculpting stone which was a revelation and a whole new world opened up for her creativity..
She loves the spontaneity of painting, letting the flow of paint dictate the forms that gradually emerge.
Stone carving evolves in a similar manner, taking pleasure in creating flowing lines and shadows, hoping to create an emotional connection with the viewer.
Ruth is gaining a reputation for producing intriguing, original work and exhibits regularly in New Zealand, winning awards here and overseas.
